The quickest fix you can make to improve traffic to your site is to update and improve your page titles.
A page title has two jobs to do:
1. It has to accurately describe the content on the page to win clicks
2. it has has to include important keywords to help the page rank
The following are four quick fixes you can apply to your page titles to boost your rankings, generate more traffic and win more clicks from the search engine result pages (SERPS).
1. Unique Page Titles
Every page on your site is unique (at least I hope it is) so every title tag should accurately describe what the content of the page is whilst including some of the important search terms that are likely to bring you traffic.
If you have a title tag that is the same on each page or that is just your business name then you are missing a trick. Study your web logs or analytics, find the popular keywords and make sure the page titles reflect these where relevant.
2. Keywords
If you want to rank for a term, it has to be in the page title, simple as that. Your title must contain the important keywords that visitors use when searching for your product or services. These should also feature within the body text where natural for them to do so.
3. Keyword Position
There are no 100% rules to SEO but you can generally improve ranking for a keyword or phrase by having it at the front of your title so if your business name is at the front, try switching it around.
4. Geographic Location
Selling window cleaning in Birmingham? Then make sure your page title includes the location as it will be a damn site easier to rank for 'window cleaner birmingham' than for 'window cleaner'. And, even if you did rank for 'window cleaner' on it's own, 95% of the enquiries would be a waste of time.

SEO is a series of small changes to improve ranking for desired phrases. Don't be afraid to make changes, test the results and try something else.
