"Web design, whether starting from scratch or redesigning, is all about planning and organisation"
Just when should you redesign your site and for what reasons? How can the process be managed to ensure the goals are met without upsetting the apple-cart and ruining the good job the existing site is doing?
What are your goals?
Before starting any redesign project we have a unique opportunity to review the current site, see what works and what could be better and to ensure the goals for the website are aligned with the goals for the business. The very first port of call for such a job is a simple survey that should be filled out by everyone relevant in the business. If you can get it filled out by the CEO, the head of all departments and some of the ground troops and then analyse and condense the response then you will have a much clearer idea of your audience and goals.
Redesign Website - How Does it Differ?
A redesign is an append to designing a new site. We have the same workflow but there are additional opportunities and a different set of pitfalls to be avoided. As with the design of a new site, we follow a methodology that fuses workflow, usability, accessibility and design into a structured path ensuring that your redesign project meets the original goals, does not spiral out of control and keeps the budget in check.
Download Free Survey
Before you start doing anything, download our free questionaire and answer all the questions. It will raise a whole host of important points that you have likely not considered and help you identify site goals, audience, redesign issues, tone, scope, maintenance and all contacts involved in the project.
Once you have filled out the questionnaire we offer a free thirty minute consultation where we will analyse your answers and assist you in developing a clear set of goals and ultimately a Communication Brief that will act as a springboard for redesign of your website.
Where Now?
We can take your answers and help you develop a communications brief. This can be used to take the development of the project forward in-house, with an existing web development company or (preferably) with ourselves. Alternatively, we can project manage your redesign project with an external developer to ensure the projects clearly stated goals are met.
If you have any questions, would like a free copy of our questionaire to get your started or we can help at all, please get in touch.
